Over the course of the last year, a new local climbing organization has formed with mentor-ship of the Boulder Climbing Community.
The Foothills Climbing Community is driven to encouraging stewardship and providing resources for climbers in the areas surrounding Jefferson County & beyond. The formation of this organization was a response to some issues that arose in late 2015, and after a meeting with about 60 local climbers in February 2016 it was decided that a new group could take on a liaison-ship with land management and government groups that support and oversee some of the local places we climb.
The Foothills Climbing Community has been a great partner over the past year. They, in collaboration with the Boulder Climbing Community, have provided and stocked Rest Stop stations at our most popular climbing areas. This has been an invaluable help in keeping our climbing areas clean of human waste. We’re looking forward to working with this group more in the future.
